Beaney Museum - Laura Thomas
I recently designed this poster for Museumaker, to promote the re-opening of the Beaney Museum in Canterbury. Laura Thomas is the featured artist that is having some of her work placed in the museum. This poster is based around the medium that she uses and what she will be bringing to the museum.
The majority of the design will be screenprinted in a dark red and the text will be in a different colour.

Young Girl
Here I used an image of a young girl that I found in a 1970's 'Family Circle' magazine. I'd definitely like to use more collage in future and also find more images from older magazines and references.

Recent Works
I find fashion and the way people portray themselves very interesting, this painting shows a modest yet pretty style of clothing. I tried to capture inner happiness and beauty, by still keeping the simpleness of using watercolour paints and quite loose brush strokes. Watercolour - A1
This piece shows my view on the immense amount of pressure and burden that young adults have to endure in attempt to establish themselves in the world. The weight pulling the bird, that's flying out of its nest, represents the debts and weights that youngsters constantly have to carry on their journey from childhood, through adolescence and into adulthood. Paper Cut-out - A1
This piece shows imagination and the colourful and intricate thoughts that an individual can have. Watercolour, ink and collage - A1
