College.
My two years at Canterbury College is close to finishing now. We have set up our show and are working on updating projects and grades at the moment. I've really enjoyed my time at Canterbury College. I'm really pleased that I chose to study here, it has been both enjoyable and helpful. It has helped me hugely in understanding where I want to go in the future and with what I wanted to study at University.
Here are some photos of the Final show and one picture of the room being prepared. We each helped with various tasks in order to prepare the room and also gain points for Unit 10 - personal and proffesional development.

College is almost over, so I can start doing more of my own personal work now. Here's a hitchhiker that I drew today. I want to draw more full bodied people, I had to redo this guy 3 times just to get his body in proportion.

FMP.
Finally finished my FMP, mostly. Here are the two posters that I created to promote the exhibition. I also printed on some bags, but I don't have a photo yet.

Victorian Portraits.
I drew these today as part of my final major project, looking into Victorian portraits. I've also been using a lot of pencil recently, I love the different textures that you can get.

...
I painted this skateboard last night. It's a bit of an experimentation for my FMP, looking into victorian families and whether times were better then and the difference in how they raised their children compared to parents today.

Quill Pen.
Recently I've been using Ink and Quill pens a fair bit, I love the almost unpredictable lines that the pen creates. Here are a few portrait studies.

Extended Project Development.
I've been working a lot recently on my extended project, looking into 'how animals are affected by society'. I've decided to focus my project on the illegal poaching of rhino's and how they are fast becoming almost extinct.
Here are some pages from my sketchbook, showing research and ideas.

Website Layout
I'm not completely sure on this layout. My favourite part of this design is the grainy background, I've simply scanned in the roof of the scanner and the slight scratches and marks have created this effect.
My First Zine!
Today I made my first small zine! It contains a brief look at my portfolio. I'd really like to create more of these in the future, and will do so for my FMP, which I'm planning ideas for today.
Narrative Image
Here are my final pieces for my narrative project. I chose to narrate some selected text from the lyrics for 'there is a light that never goes out' by The Smiths. I thought that the lyrics were quite bleak and dark, so I did not want to contradict this by giving my image bright colours that seemed irrelevant to the text. I also wanted for this illustration to be subtle, not just narrating the text, but giving an impression of what I thought was relevant to the text.
